Throughout our lives, we must all make decisions based on what we "should", rather than what we would "like", to do. Your choice is the feature of several articles.

In this case you have investigated, and understand, the choice (and consequences). So you have prepared yourself to make a reasoned decision.

However, things don't need to be so clear cut. For example, is there an elective extra-curricular music program at your school, or town? Can you join a band, or continue music lessons, even though you're not formally enrolled in a music class at school?

There are many studies that demonstrate the importance of music education to a student's outcomes. There are 'hidden benefits' of music education, which include spatial intelligence and creative thinking. So even though it's a subject you enjoy, there are other reasons to continue with music classes.

In any case, stay friendly with the music staff and keep attending school concerts. You might hate your career-based electives and it's good to know you have a connection with a group of people, and subjects, that you enjoy.

Talk with a career counsellor, or subject counsellor at your school. They've seen this happen time and time again, and might have some good advice (or an option you hadn't considered).
